I know them all, far to well! Had one come visit yesterday, just as we were going to bed. I was already lying down in bed, when my other half to be picked up his pillow to give it a good "Puffing up"... he just looked at me and went "Hunny, get out of bed" and I FLEW! Just behind me was a giant, and I am an arachnofobiac.... Didnt get quite the early night expected, it ended with a large whiskymac in the sofa instead, to calm nerves before second attempt of sleep!

NASTY BUGGERS.... I dont like 'em much, this will be a looooooong autumn

I have a lovley huge spider in here, but I haven't got a parrot to eat it yet.
Better fatten it up ready then.   I do have a tarantula so I will have to keep that away from a parrot when I get one.

I have been having devious thoughts of getting a load of rubber spiders and hiding them in every nook and cranny at work as my boss is PETRIFIED of them and it would give me enormous pleasure to watch the sheer terror on her face when she finds them thinking they are real pmsl

I don't like them either. In fact up to abour 10 years ago I could'nt even stand 'money spiders'. However, once in Oz I had no choice but to take a few deep breaths. We have had them as big as your hand, in the kitchen. We had one with only 7 legs nick named him George. He was ok while he lived behind the picture in the lounge but one day he came out and had 8 legs. Now I'm not saying that spiders can regrow legs cos don't know but it went in with 7 and came out with 8. So long as they wern't in the bedroom I managed to cope. Mind you the hand sized one gave me the shakes lol

I am sorry for letting you know that piece of information

I know how you feel as I do not really like snakes, was attacked by an adder when I was 9. My son told me that he wants a snake but I have told him that when he moves into his own house I will get him one, but not in this house as I would be worried, and we have enough animals anyway. At 4am that night I woke up and screamed, my husband tells me. The dream was this snake climbing up and sitting on my shoulder I was thinking about parrots before I went to bed so that must be why it was on my shoulder

Oh you have given me a giggle - we lived out in the sticks when I was younger and my dad refused to let me kill spiders - said they were randy males looking for mates and were all called FRED. Just as well now as my hubby hates all things creepy crawlie and frogs for some reason - he screams like a girl - then I have to remove said beastie. Between us I hope the children are getting a proper balance of how to treat them- mind you knowing my luck Chelsea will man up - like me and deal with them and michael will follow his dad and run around screaming like a girl ha ha.

I know how you feel, although I lived in \oz and had the little blighters everywhere in my opinion the only good spider is a dead one. Sue, you didnt need to get close to George to count his legs. He was a Huntsman, they are of the tarantula group but not hairy likes those horrible things. t was the little ones that you had to beware of. The red back and the white tail. I had a spider run across the floor last night and even knowing that they are not venomous like most of the Ozzy ones I went over all queer. sort of shivvery inside and polaxed on the outside. I am ok if they just dont move lol
