Hello everyone....
I was at the South West Truckfest on a glorious Sunday and came across the Birdline stand.......
What a fantastic organisation supporting the welfare of birds, and of course my favourite, the Parrot.....
I fell in love with Parrots when I was in a flat share, and one of the guys had an African Grey called 'Spike'.....My relationship with Spike grew very quickly, as I spent alot of time at home and Spike used to sit with me when I worked from home and when watching TV. I remember fondly being in my bedroom and Spike used to tap on the door in order that I should open the door and let Spike in......what a wonderful and missed little feathered friend......
.....and of course this is why as soon as I got home from the show, I went online and joined Birdline......I do not have a vast experience in looking after Parrots, but I have applied to Foster one of the Parrots for re-homing with the aim in giving the Parrot the best possible life.....
Jane, my partner, sits beside me saying.."OMG....you have applied for a Parrot already.. ..". Jane is fully supportive in the Fostering of a Parrot as she saw me with Spike and knows how much I miss my little feathered friend.....
We live in the Centre of Bristol in a lovely 2 bedroomed flat alongside the river and have no other pets or children living with us (yes, we are on the more mature side.... )....
Anyway, I really don't know what else to say, except, hello to you all and please teach me more about Parrots and living with them.....
Cheers...
Kevan & Jane.. |

Hi Kevan and Jane and welcome to the mad world of BL. You'll find everyone here very friendly and very helpful. Any questions, just ask. Have you considered safehousing? Safehouses are a very valuable asset to BL, providing much needed initial evaluation and care for birdies in need. It gives you the opportunity to experience a variety of species and maybe get to meet that special bird that touches your heart like Spike. Might be worth thinking about. Safehouses are essential to BL's work. So, welcome again and have fun looking round the site |
