 Hi folks,

Just wanted to know if any one buys willow wreathes. I've bought some with the bark on - there are lots of picks of peeled willow wreaths on animals toys and some with the dark bark still on. Mine are unpeeled - do you think they're just as safe?

Stace x

Hi

I always use this site as a guide....I believe it tells you safe and toxic plants/trees and it breaks it down into 'wood' & 'foilage'

Willow bark is what is used to make aspirin and you can actually chew it to releave headaches. I made aspirin in chemestry at college once but i don't know how much 'Salicin' (the active ingredient) is actually present in the raw bark, I guess i am just saying make sure you research thoroughly first incase you give your bird an overdose, or even just a sore tummy!
