This is truly shocking news, someone or a group of people have broken into an aviery in Wythenshaw park Manchester and killed 18 birds, most of which where in the parrot family of birds. They have also tipped fertiliser into the ornemental ponds killing koi carp, there are other news reports but the images are truly very distresing.

I have to say i'm in total shock at the severity of this attack.

What I have to say is not suitable for this forum.. Made me cry and feel sick however. Can't believe "people" are capable of such deeds! Obviously they are in need of professional help, behind bars though!! Really hope they get caught ASAP..

Read thisafter just reading about somebody poisioning a route common with dog walkers in yorkshire where 8 dogs have died.

The depravity of this world sickens me and I sincerely hope they get what's coning to them!

Name them shame them and then lets see how they feel.

Hanging on to the thought that what goes around comes around!!

It never fails to shock and disgust me, to hear of the horrors that humans can and do inflict on all wildlife and pets. Our laws are are far too lenient in this country.
Its not often that I agree with other countries policies, but their ways of dealing with animal cruelty is one that I do.We need a system like America and Austrailia etc. They seem to arrest prosecute and Jail the culprits on a much wider scale than we do here.Until Britain toughens up in a huge way,it is just going to get worse.
Its heartbreaking !!!

Totally disgusting I agree with Ann too, plus the 'human rights' law is used far too much in this damn country. Lets hope these evil ppl are caught and named and shamed.

Disgusting and so so upsetting.  Research has shown that people such as these are prime candidates for child abuse too.

Apparently they are questioning a 15 year old! If that was my kid, I would disown him/her.

I would beat them to within an inch of his life................wait no change that I would kill them.

Seriously, I would go to prison for what I would do and I'd do it with a BIG smile on my face.

How would any 'normal' human being want to own to being a parent of either of those.

I stand by my original view!

Future child cruelty candidates - I hope social services/police keep a very close eye on them in the future.

And because they are only 13 and 15 they wont even have their identity revealed...disgusting. How can anyone have any rights after committing an awful shocking crime like this.

Edited to add that they have now arrested 8 teenagers.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...r-13642450

See there has been another attack on birds in Cudworth nr Barnsley, not parrots but 84 prize showing pigeons they killed the chicks in the nests and ripped the heads and wings of the adults. The owner is a disabled man who's had his place attacked 12 times in 12 weeks. Apparently latest attack was on Thursday night (just been checking out the update on local Cefax) Sick.....real sick...... really makes me dispair at the human race :o(

Thats bloody awful, he's been let down big time by our new style of managing problems in this country. Corporal and Capitol punishment IS justified in my book.

Latest from Wythenshaw

Greater Manchester Police have now arrested six people, aged between 13 and 18, on suspicion of burglary, theft and criminal damage.

An 18-year-old remains in custody, while the other five have been bailed until August.
