Hello all. My name is Hayley and I have been a member for approx. 4 weeks. I live in Warwickshire in a small barn in the sticks with no neighbours, so parrots were a good choice !!! I have 2 dogs, 2 budgies, a Bearded Dragon, a newly acquired Orange Winged Amazon who is being very naughty and biting me ( recently came to me via a terminal relative ) and in the process of adopting a Senegal via Birdline - just waiting for a home check next week.

I am the manager of an animal charity shop in Warwick and absolutely love my job.

Hi Hayley and welcome, good to hear that you are in a charity shop. One of our members makes brilliant toys from all the bits that people throw away, any chance of a Birdline box in your sorting area?!

I scour local charity shops for "pram" toys, and the learning centre type ones for my lot. But the person I was thinking of lives in the Midlands and makes toys from bits of wood, blocks, lego or sticklebricks, cotton bobbins, etc. anything that can be chopped up and threaded onto rope for them to chew.

Are you out there Shaz? Or can anyone point her in the direction of this thread so that she can liase with Hayley.

Hi Hayley, welcome to BL. I also have regular contact with Shaz and I know she would love toy-making parts. Any broken toys that can be dismantled for stringing together - rattles, wooden bits (but not MDF), plastic bits, particularly duplo and building blocks. It has to be parrot safe (no sharp bits, no zinc, no bits that can trap beaks/tongues etc.) Shaz's flock like musical toys too. The only thing she doesn't really use is cuddly toys.

You could contact me by PM if you want any more info. I know Shaz will appreciate any donations.
