We currently have an urgent appeal for safe houses that can take on some special needs birds. Think you can help? Please see this forum post for more information.
I only post this because of the mention of milk thistle to cure "sloppy poos"
My understanding is that if birds are given 'unlimited quantities' of fresh fruit and veg that you will rarely ever see the neat little white and green dollop poos.
The fruit and veg will lead to a hugely increased number of intermediary wee based poos....so instead of the neat ones you get billions of watery/green poos....is this what is meant by sloppy poos? (the structure of the green in the watery poo is quite solid)
Yes, you can usually tell a bird that's fed on only seed by their poo's, but saying that, if they dont have fruit or veg one day, their poo is usually normal again by the next. I try not to feed too much fruit tbh coz it makes them really watery, veg is much better and luckily they all like that (she says after she's just fed all hers fruit today!!)
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww lol
