Glad to read all this as I applied on 21 June and haven't heard a thing (but doubtless irritated everyone after 6 weeks by trying to find out if my application had actually been received and was being considered - having had a response within 3 weeks on the other two occasions I applied for a parrot in the past year). I did email Birdline to suggest that if the delays were much longer than usual, it might be kind to us nailbiters to post a message on the Re-Homing List page to explain this but so far that hasn't been taken up (except something appeared saying something about because birdline is manned by volunteers, it might take "a few days" !!!!) Anyway, I shall wait on in hope, cheered by the thought that I'm not the only one checking the answerphone messages keenly!

Some of our safehouse people are also in the same predicament as yourselves, but for the opposite reasons. Unfortunately they are also waiting for their safehoused birds to find their forever homes, and therefore free up valuable spaces for incoming birds. BUT as our prime concern IS for the birds themselves, this cannot be rushed into.It would be likely to end up coming back in again because it had been placed in the wrong home. Although things can go wrong and mistakes can be made, the rehoming team try their utmost to ensure this doesnt happen, by getting it right first time. Im afraid we just ALL have to be patient.Hard as it is. |
