Theo is a 20 year old OWA who has come to live with us after her original owner became too ill to look after her. She is scared of hands, and hasn't ventured outside her cage yet, but she is slowly settling down.

Her first rehome fell through due to screaming, but she didn't show that behaviour for the 6 months she was at the safehouse. I'm lucky in that I can seem to 'zone out' the screaming. Believe me, I need to with the way Billy and Oscar are going for it at the moment! |

Theo has been here a few months now. She still isn't too keen on stepping up, although she will do if she feels it is necessary (she lets me 'rescue' her if she files into a strange room). She is, however, much more comfortable with my hands.
Here she is enjoying a head skritch, a face rub, and one of her favourites, a belly tickle:

Theo was scared of hands when she arrived, but is very food orientated. She started by stepping onto my hand to reach a piece of nutriberry, soon she was walking the length of my arm. She still doesn't like to step up unless she thinks it is absolutely necessary, but enjoys playing skritching and belly stroking games. Up until today she always held on to the cage or perch with one foot, but this afternoon, while we were playing, she started stepping onto my hand with both feet. She LOVES to sing with me, but today has enjoyed copying my coughing, sneezing and nose blowing as I have a cold! |
