Hello everyone my name is Gary married to Kerry with 2 children a dog and 2 Guinea Pigs and we are all new to Birdline. We are hoping to adopt an african grey very soon that comes with a cage. We have kept cockatiels in the past  but are new to parrots but I have always wanted one and I believe we can offer one a good caring home. Any help or assistance or advice in this matter would be good help. We live in Shropshire.

Gary

Hi Gary,

Good luck with the Grey. I never really understood them until I babysat one (and hes back for 3 weeks tomorrow which 'm really looking forward to)...jaw dropping birds but they are a 'full on parrot' in every respect.

If I could offer any advice it's that you can't spend enough time preparing (including spending time with a bird outside of the initial ooh ahh! period if at all possible). You're really lucky that the BL team take away all of the 'not knowing' aspect.

I'll look forward to hearing your success!

Hi Gary,
Birdline will have a bird heading your way I`m sure, lol!
It`s really nice to help in rescue birds.
Good luck, looking forward to hearing more when you get a bird.
