On the three mornings that I work, my hubby Bryan gets Norman, my CAG, up. This is 'coz I leave the house at 4.30am

Bryan cannot handle Norman without being badly bitten, so he will open the top of Norm's cage. Norm in turn climbs up and sits 'out' whilst Bryan gets everyone else up, fed and watered. Bryan will then sit by Norm on the computer for half an hour before putting Norm's seed and toast in his cage at which point Norm climbs back in and Bryan closes the cage and goes to work.

The thing is this..... Bryan goes out say. 9am and I am back around 1.30pm and it is not until I return that Norm will have a poo. As he goes to bed at 7pm the previous evening,  that means he holds it in for over 18 hours

Once he has had this poo, which he does on his stand, not in his cage, then he poos frequently for the rest of the day. On the other four mornings I get him up,  I just take him out his cage and he has a poo straight away.

I must say it is nice not having to clean poo up out the cage but is his behaviour normal??

Hi,

Yes Pele my  Senegal has to have his/her morning poo outside of the cage, the rest we can do inside

On a funny note: the other day whilst I was on the toilet (Pele saw me going into the bathroom, and I must confess has been on my shoulder when I have been doing my business) shouted out very loudly "dunapoo?" Needless to say the windows were open and the neighbours were in the garden. Sheepisly I flushed the loo and stayed indoors.

A word to the wise, dont state the obvious when you parrot does a poo it will only come back to haunt you!

I have always used the command " Bombs away Norm!" but he has never, ever repeated it.

Hehe, Pele is going to get you into a lot of trouble Georgia!!
If we say to some of ours 'do your poo' then they do it if they know it means they`ll be taken away from cages or something for a while.
Our Greenwing and Harlequins save it up all night and do a big one in the morning, but the others all go through the night.
Matilda won`t do hers in the cage until she`s let out she`ll hold it then do it on the paper under her door (placed to precision)!!
