When budgies are bred for weird and wonderful colours, the life span is less.....

I am at present, looking after a 55 year old , semi blind, almost bald, cag. She would be delighted to have any feathers, never mind the colour.
And she is Lovely,

I agree with you, everything comes down to money, and never a thought of what they are really doing to the animals long term. I used to adore the king charles spaniels until I watched a programme on breed standards and crufts and what they have bred into this dog is absolutely horrific. To make them look sweet, with the high dome shaped heads, has caused their brains to be to large for their skulls. A vet I was talking to told me that these days, most pedigree dogs have
lots of health issues, and mongrels are by far the most healthy that he sees.

$150,000 the pair for the red greys? he'll be lucky. I'm guessing if it ever catches on they will only be called Greys for a few years of novelty value after which I presume they will be 'Reds'.

I went looking for Albino Greys, there's a good photo but I can't access it , the thumbnail is below. Albino Oodies (Aoodies) and Ringnecks look a bit rubbish IMHO.

If excited about interesting variations in colour people should buy an Umbrella and give it some pre-school non-toxic felt tip pens to play with.

They do a terrible thing with fish too. They basically get Koi, remove the scales off hundreds of them, thus killing them, and put them onto others to make peoples initials in the fish and things like that. it`s cruel and horrific!
