Seeing as im a safehouse i've decided to buy a travel cage just for when I get a bird that needs transporting or the vets.

I've bought the smallest Dog Crate size(60cm x 45cm x 51cm)

Is this ok it looks sort of huge lol also will a parrot be able to get out of the gaps in the cage, I'm a bit worried now

This is the actual cage I bought cgi.ebay.co.uk/Folding-Dog-Puppy-Ca...plies_Dogs  Its the bit where the tray slides in and out thats bothering me the most.

Hope its ok

im not sure jenn ...hard to tell without seeing it wether the spaces are too big for the smaller birds, scarlett who posts on the forums has her own website and her small parrot travel cages are good value and come with food bowls etc and a perch.........Im not sure if doddie still has any left ive just got a large and small ,the small ones were £16 , send doddie a private message ask if she has any left if what you have bought is not suitable

Ok thanks just been looking at , I'll definately save the one I have for any larger birds and i'll get a smaller one too.

Is there a specific size recommended for smaller birds or is it just a small bird carrier.

Ebay do special bird ones.  Mine came within 2days - the quality seems ok for the money paid. Have a look.

I do have a couple of BL carriers left, small = 51 x 34 x 43cms (£16), med = 60 x 43 x 53cms (£22). The company I bought them from doesn't do larger ones. They are very expensive to post, so it's best to make some other arrangement to get them. I live in Surrey, near Croydon, if anyone wants a carrier, please call or email me.

Perhaps I should also add that I sent up several carriers to the Redditch show last year that seem to have vanished. Everyone that ordered a carrier has paid on receipt, that's fine, it's all the carriers that were either bought at the show without being ordered (no money arrived here) and all those that weren't sold, but were taken home by someone to look after - I've no idea where they are! Anyone got any information?

For the small birds it's just as easy to use a budgie cage as a carrier, bar spacing isnt an issue then. I have the folding parrot cages, one medium, one large and they are great!
