Archie foster ...TAG...

Archie has always had this thing he's never really liked  my TAG, belle. got that all sorted belle stays with me while birds are out...kitchen bathroom etc .

anyway found out it's not just belle, he doesn't like my safe house TAG parky either, found this out the hard way

they had a fight lucky enough i wasn't far and stopped it before they hurt each other

he's fine with any other bird it's just his own kind.

Archie now moved into living room..( living room and bird room, 2 rooms knocked into 1)...and is under strict supervision.

any advice...or have i just got the TAG devil bird....you should see him in the cage...stompmin back and forwards, after the other 2 TAG's....lol

My Daisy Grey's like that. She doesn't like birds in general, and hates Greys in particular, then she will sometimes choose a Grey to really HATE, and would walk a country mile over broken glass to get to it and kill! Daisy came to us from being Fostered - they wanted a companion for their own Grey. She drew blood twice on that bird, so was given back. We've had her for around 6 years or so, she's clipped once a year, and she seems to have got the message that she can't fly. She can, actually, in the winter, but there's a strong similarity between her flight and that of bricks.... Anyhow, she stays on her cage most of the time, but loves to climb down and have a wander. We keep her as far away as poss from other Greys, and keep an eye. I once caught her in another Grey's cage, she was on top, every feather at right-angles, with him on his back on the floor. I pulled her off, none too gently, and luckily he was ok, just a bit scared. He'd done nothing wrong, he wasn't ill, just Daisy being Daisy. We've learned to watch her, and mostly she stays put. It's a bit like having a toddler, you need eyes in the back of your head. I think if she took that strong a dislike to a permanent stayer here, I would have to make a decision, which one to move on. Daisy would probably stay, because it takes a long time for her to bond to someone, much longer than is usual, so the other bird would have to go. We have a lot of birds that go through here, many of which are Greys. I don't envy you your problem, but you do learn to live with it, deal with it, put up with it, and it can be a pain!

just climbed out of Parky's cage and strolled back to his cage nice as you like ..lol...

Max my timneh wont have any other birds whatsoever. Actually he is the same with people. I am the only one who can get near him at all. He is totally devoted to me, which can be a big problem.
I have had him for 8 yrs and he was six when we got him,we have tried everything to try and make him more sociable, but all to no avail.
Now we just accept that this is the way he is and there is nothing else we can do, except make sure that he doesnt get the chance to attack any of our flock, and he has his time out on his own.

My Timmie Rommy has never been overkeen on opther birds either, but a couple of years of persistance and introducing her to my lot she has finally accepted them.  Occassionally she will have a little flap with one particular bird, but mostly she is now pretty good, I think it's a timmie thing

Gizmo my OWA can be like that a bit with my baby grey Dusty, but i put that down to the fact im part of a love triangle lol, they are always supervised when out. Other times they get on fine, but overall i do not think they will ever see eye to eye, that i have to accept and work round xx
