For humans the issue with phosphates comes from the fact junk foods are loaded with them (in bad forms). I'm sure like Helen says the 'balanced diet' rules applies.

For my part I'll ram as much Corn (nearly used the abbreviation!) down Oodies throat as he will eat, all fresh fruit and veg contains stuff thats harmful in excess but you'd need to solely exist on it for it to be a problem, the alternate benefiits are off the scale e.g. sweetcorn is full of calcium too!
