Hooray corn on the cob is finally in season over here.
Was £1.50 each now 12p each. Just gave the bird half a full one and got the dregs rubbed all over my face in thanks
Can't remember who said it or when but thanks to the person who said "never serve straight from fridge, always serve lukewarm" works every time |

Vicky, it took me a minute to work out was COC was - I thought you were being smutty again lol. Traci, our boys don't seem to like corn either - whether it's raw (in tidymix) or cooked (on or off the cob). I wish they did. |

thanks, just read on another site, that it can stop parrots from absorbing certain vitamins, and shouldn't be given in large amounts, ie, a corn on the cob every day xx |

this is what i read. Gender: Female Posts: 4186 v069238 View Profile WWW Personal Message (Online) Re: corn on the cob « Reply #2 on: Today at 08:43:44 PM » Reply with quoteQuote corn on cob is fine, but don't give more than 1/5 of a whole cob, or more than about 10 kernels a day, it is very rich in phosphorus, excess of which reduced calcium absorption, and overeating on any one food will prevent the parrot from eating other foods, consequently loosing on nutrients. I take it a kernal is a piece of corn? sorry if i sound dim, but just don't want to poisen my grey x |

Yep Nicky - a kernel is one of the corn 'seeds' - one yellow piece. |

I don't think it can be that harmful. After all they do waste a fair bit (if your CAG is anything like my two.) As long as you don't give it each and every day, I really don't think it can be that harmful. After all, as I've said, tidymix includes dried corn. If you're really worried then try a mini cob, like the short ones that they sell as starters or for children. |
