   Looking for Homes
Cleo the African Grey - N33

Hello, my name is Cleo and I'm an adorable Congo African Grey.

I am adorable if you happen to be the man I choose to be my 'special' man. Otherwise I am a volatile feathered bundle of trouble, mischief and aggression! I am believed to be a girl but I have been showing off to the female CAG at my safehouse so my sex is now questionable. I am an elderly bird, at least 40 years old so my next home has to be my last - I am too old to keep moving house! I don't fly but enjoy a wander around the floor, but keep an eye on me as I enjoy a secret nibble of wires too. I am a good eater and enjoy a healthy diet of fruit and veg and my daily seed. I also like to have a bit of what your eating around dinner time. I am cultured and can whistle opera but I enjoy listening to the radio too, not just opera! I also enjoy it when you talk and sing to me, but I am afraid that I have never mastered 'talking' myself. Now the really important part as you need to know what you are taking on.....I have an overbonding problem. I tend to pick a person who will become my 'special person' and once I have selected that person then everyone and everything else becomes a 'threat'. I get jealous and will attack anything that takes my 'special persons' attention away from me. My special person has always been male and I don't think that's going to change now. Under no circumstances can I live with children or other pets / birds as they simply will not understand how I can change from a silly tame bird that loves tickles and strokes with my daddy, to a nasty biting creature that will bite anything within range! I have on occasions forgotten who I am with and have stepped up for my safehouse Mummy, but as soon as I realise what I have done I bite her - really HARD! Ideally I need to live with a single man who will love me as much as I will love him. If there is another adult in the house then they would need to understand that I want nothing to do with them and they are to stay away from me and my 'special man'.

I am in Greenlaw, South East Scotland. I will need a new cage too!

Billie & Jamie the Indian Ringnecks 1569 & 1958

Hi! We are Billy (green) and Jamie (blue) and we are Ringneck Parakeets.

We are little birds with humungous personalities. Can you find space in your home and heart for us? I (Billy) am the boss, what I say goes. I am a feisty girl who loves the company of humans and love to have tickles, but I have another passion which is to bite! I love coming out of my cage and sitting with you but don't forget I am there otherwise I will have to remind you..... Jamie loves people too, and when away from his cage he is a nice boy, but he doesn't like to be away from me and panics if he can't see me. He can be quite cage territorial and doesn't like stepping up from his cage but he steps up nicely from others places. We don't mind men or women as long as you can put in the time with us individually and as a pair. I don't think it is a good idea for us to be around children too much because we do find fingers in our cages so very tasty, but then any food that enters our cage is very tasty. We are what are commonly known as birdy dustbins! We will eat anything and everything, we love our fruit, veg and seed and if we see you eating something well it's only fair you share it. I think it is only fair to tell you, Jamie has a fetish, he is one of those "feeders" he loves to feed me, I think he is trying to fatten me up. I don't have the same feelings for him that he has for me, but what can I say? Food is food whatever the source. Because of our love for our own space we have separate cages and it MUST stay this way for the foreseeable future, but currently we are borrowing cages so may need new ones. The cage I am using at the moment has a seed catcher around it, not much good for seed catching but Jamie loves to sit on it so he can feed me without the risk of me having a play with his toes. Spoilsport!! We also need a home with no other birds - We do not like to share our home!

We are in Witham Essex and new cages would be preferable..

Mollie the Red Sided Eclectus - N20

Hello, I am Mollie a female Red Sided Eclectus and I am 6 years old.

I am a sweet little girl (to men) but I really do not like women! So that I can be really happy I need to be in a home with a man who can interact daily with me. I am happy enough for a woman to feed and clean me, as long as she doesn't expect to handle me. My current home is very busy and I would be happier in a more quiet home, either as an only bird (so long as you are at home lots to keep me company) or maybe with 1-2 other birds for me to chat to. I laid my first egg last year and decided to remove all my feathers, these are growing back and I promise I will try to stop plucking them altogether when I get settled. I love to be out of my cage but I also love to chew so you will need to keep an eye on me, I love to chew boxes too but that’s OK Mum said. I am not a needy girl and nor am I noisy, just the very occasional Ecki noise for a second or two.

I will need a new cage please but can bring an old one for the time being if you like. I am living in Norfolk/Cambridgeshire borders area.

Jamie & Woody the Blue Fronted Amazon & Mealy Amazon - C68 & 203

Hi, my name is Jamie and the big guy is Woody. He is a Mealy Amazon & I am a Blue Fronted Amazon, we are the best of buddies, where ever Woody goes I go too!!

He can talk better than me (he's a show off), I'm still learning. We both love it when our safe house mum talks to us and give us lots of attention. We are used to being left while our safehouse Mum goes to work, which we don't mind as we keep each other company. Our favourite time is when we are out of our cage we love to go exploring. Woody can fly better than me, so we tend to do a lot of walking on the floor checking things out! We love to have toast in the morning with fresh fruit. We will try different kinds of foods, but our favourite treat is biscuits (but not too many because we have to watch our waist lines). Once we get to know and trust you we will let you tickle our heads. We live in a house with a teenage boy who we trust and enjoy it when he is around. We would prefer a female carer as we both behave better with the ladies! With men we are a little more choosey. I don’t think we should go to a home with small children.

Currently we are in a borrowed cage so we will need a nice big one to share. We are in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Billy the Congo African Grey - C116

Hello, my name is Billy, and I'm a Congo African Grey.

I am in a bit of a mess as you can see. I've pulled most of my feathers out (they were a lot worse than this when I first got here), my Daddy says I am slowly getting better. I am a fussy boy, but my safe house Dad thinks I'm lovely. I don't like the lady much but the children are ok because they leave me alone. I can be destructive so you would need to keep an eye on me. I can also be noisy (but in a nice way) I tend to whistle and sing rather loudly. All the family are going to be very sad when I leave here as they think I'm wonderful. My new home must have a nice man in it as it is only a man who is allowed to tickle me. I will let a lady feed me.

I am living in Kings Norton, West Midlands and I do have my own cage.

NOTE: This bird is in the latter stages of the foster programme and thus may shortly be removed from the re-homing list. Please consider this when applying to foster this bird.

Dixie the Maximillian Pionus – N42

Hi, my name is Dixie a Maximillian Pionus, and I am a very lovely, quiet boy.

My safehouse parents say I am no bother at all and that I will make someone a lovely companion. I don’t mind other birds as I share my safehouse with a Senegal. I do not like the other pets though, so Jessie the dog is kept well away, as are the cats. I do like to have my cage door open, and my safehouse family let me have it open as much as they can. I don’t like being handled but I will sit on your shoulder or arm, whichever is available. I don’t mind teenagers as there are 2 in my safehouse. I love to listen to music and am learning to dance, as I watch the other bird do it – he has some groovy moves! I am also learning how to clean myself a bit more due to watching him, I must have been a bit lazy on that part before, but my colours are now lovely - my safehouse parents think I am a pretty boy. I like to have my shower of a morning and sometimes it calms me down as I can be impatient to come out. I can get a little grumpy when I am tired and I do like my sleep. I find that if I want to go to sleep and others around me don’t, then a cover over me is just the thing. I hope that there is a nice forever home waiting for a kind gentle old man like myself. I will bring someone lots of joy and companionship. I do ask that you have no dogs, or that they are kept apart from me though as I don’t like those 4 legged creatures.

I do come with my own cage but I would like a new one though as mine is getting a bit tatty. I also have my own toys to bring with me to a forever home. I am living in Middlesbrough at the moment.

Max the Congo African Grey - C165

Hi, I'm Max and I'm a spritely and fun-loving male African Grey of around 9 years young.

I need an experienced forever home and someone to spend time with me. Ok, I might be a bit on the wild side at times and I'm quick on the move and will sometimes try and get you if I can, but I have loads of potential in the right hands. I'm not hand tame but will step onto a perch so you can take me round the house. I do love attention and I love you to help me play with my hanging toys and play tug o war with leather strips. When I'm out of the cage I like to explore and sometimes like to push balls around. I might prefer female companionship and really haven't made my mind up about other birds, animals and children. I'm not a noisy bird generally but sometimes I do like to let you know I'm still here when you've gone to bed. Yes, it's all about me I'm afraid, but I do have my quiet times when I think (but am not quite sure) that I'd like a head scratch from you. I need help with my diet as at the moment I only like things that are not so good for me - so you'll just have to persevere!

I don't have my own cage I am afraid so will need a nice new one (which I will protect!!) and I am in the West Midlands.

Bambam and Dizzy the Cockatiels - N27

Hello all, we are Bambam and Dizzy, two lovely Cockatiels.

I am Dizzy, the slightly plucked one, Bambam is feather perfect. We are both very very tame, I will step up from inside or outside the cage, but Bambam will only step up outside the cage. We love ladies and men and adore children of  any age, we will even go to strangers. We have a playstand in our safehouse and we love to sit on it….could you buy us a little one? We love our food and will try anything. We are not noisy birds but we do enjoy a whistle and a dance. Ok, I know we are not massive birds but please don’t over look us - what we lack in size is made up for in our big personalities and our love for everybody - we will sit with you for hours. We love to have a wander round the floor and get up to mischief so I hope that’s ok. We have always lived together and share a cage and that is how we like it. We are fantastic little birds and everyone who meets us says so. If you are looking for two lovely companions you do not need to look any further.

We are currently in Langholm, in Dumfries and Galloway and do not have a cage I'm afraid!

NOTE: This bird is in the latter stages of the foster programme and thus may shortly be removed from the re-homing list. Please consider this when applying to foster this bird.

Holly the Orange Winged Amazon & JoJo the Blue Fronted Amazon - SE95 & SE96

Hi, our names are JoJo and Holly. We get on very well together and it would only be right if we went to a forever home together.

We are 5 and 13 years old respectively and we both enjoy chewing our hanging toys until there isn't much left. My safehouse Dad says we are no trouble at all. Although we aren't too keen on being touched all the time, we will let you come close to us and talk to us. We both stay out of the cage most of the day on a very handy perch on top, we often go to sleep here as well as relax here. We will quite happily eat pretty much anything, including your dinner. We come with our own cage because we are so used to it. We do tend to prefer women, as us girls should stick together! We are very happy together, but would really like a forever home, so someone can look after us both and share their food with us! We are not at all fazed by other pets, birds or children so please foster us! We are really very sweet and pretty too!

We are in West Sussex and as previously mentioned we will bring our cage with us.

Edd the Blue Throated Conure - DK97

Hello my name is Edd, I am a Blue Throated Conure. I am very friendly and looking for a new Mum and Dad that can give me lots of attention.

I love to be handled and I can step up as well. I like to be stroked through the cage and I do a few tricks with my safe house Daddy, he turns me over and tickles my belly. I give lots of kisses. I really enjoy having the freedom of flying around and then just sitting on your shoulder. My diet consists of a wide variety of fruit, veg, seed and a cheeky biscuit every now and then. I play with the bottle tops that my Mum and Dad give me - who needs expensive toys! I don't mind dogs if they don't mind me, and I like children (there are 3 at my safe house and I have lots of strokes from all of them), but I don't like other birds. Well that's it from me, I look forward to meeting my new forever family xxx

I can bring my cage with me to my new home and am in Ashford, Kent.

Harpo the Blue Throated Conure - N36

Hello my name is Harpo. I am a Blue Throated Conure looking for a new and happy forever home - can you help?

My Mum and Dad think I might be cage territorial, but I love being out of my cage and having a fly around, then just sitting on your shoulder and falling asleep. I will step up on you, but I really do not like to be touched, just sitting with you is good enough for me. I will snuggle up behind your ear and the more contact I have with you the better behaved I am, so please have lots of patience with me as I will give you so much in return. I love my food and enjoy a wide variety of fruit, veg, seed and the odd biscuit every now and then. I am a playful bird and like to play with bottle tops and pine cones. I prefer men to women and I don't mind dogs or children (as long as they don't try to stroke me). I do not get on with other birds though.

I am in Ashford, Kent and have my own cage.

Lulu the Orange Winged Amazon - N49

Hi, I am Lulu an Orange Winged Amazon and I am looking for a new home.

I am a nervous bird and do not like to be handled although I will accept an occassional head tickle from my favourite man. You have to be careful though as I can lull you into a false sense of security! Due to my unpredictable nature I can not be rehomed where there are children. I quite like the company of other birds but do not like any other creatures, and I think I would prefer a quiet home as I am a bit nervous and need to be worked with. I do not step up, and am frightened of hands and sticks so this will be a challenge for you! I enjoy a nice spray - well a girl has to keep her feathers looking good and I am a healthy eater too and will happily eat my fruit and vegetables. Mostly I enjoy being spoken to and will happily chat with you.

I am living in Bolton, Lancashire and am afraid I do not have a cage to call my own.

Bobbie the Congo African Grey - SE71

Hi everyone! Bobbie birdy is my name and I am a stunning Congo African Grey.

I am a fantastic dancer. I even have my own CD with songs with my name in. I am a teenager so I like my music loud! I lived with my previous owner from a baby, and now I have left home I am being a typical teenager - throwing the odd tantrum and being a little moody. My safehouse Mum thinks this is because I am not getting as much attention as I want. If I am honest I am not that keen on my temporary Mum but that’s because I am not really settled here, and I have to share her with another bird and a dog that she talks to as well, and I get a bit of green envy. I would be happier in a home without dogs but I may come round to the idea of other birds. I love to listen to you talking and whistling. I like to watch what you are doing while sitting on top of my cage. I am good girl (at least everyone thinks I am a girl), My safehouse says I am not particularly destructive or noisy. I can say quite a few words, but I won't say them while you are in the room as I'm a bit shy. I will say them when you are out of sight yet I know you can still hear me. I really want a new companion to keep me company. I would let my previous owner do anything with me, I completely trusted her, letting her cuddle me, pick me up and carry me wherever she wanted. I know that if you give me lots of attention and love I will in time let you do the same, and will love you too. You humans are so interesting, you can see from my picture that I have a cheeky side that is just waiting to come out. I do a great impression of a bat (even better than in my picture).

I am in Little Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. I do have a cage but would benefit from a new one.

Skippy the Timneh Grey - SE109

Hi there my name is Skippy. I’m a Timneh Grey of about 60 years old. l am in very good condition for my age (even if l do say so myself)!

I am a very good boy and do talk, albeit very quietly – no shouting! l don’t really like coming out of my cage much, I am an old boy, set in my ways and enjoy my cage comforts, so not coming out does not worry me, but it seems to worry you humans! Having said that if I like the look of you I will come out to have a closer look. My preference seems to be for women, perhaps an older lady as I am no spring chicken myself! Do you think you will take my fancy? I don’t step up and prefer to entertain myself with forage boxes and toys (bells are my favourite), although I do enjoy you talking and singing to me. I may even reward you with a dance if you sing the right song! I am a sweet little man and the only time I get a bit grumpy (loud) is when I am tired and want to go to bed.

I could do with a new cage, but please let me settle into my new home in my old one first, as us old birds do not like too much change in one go. I am currently in Canterbury, Kent.

Charlie the Orange Winged Amazon - C187

Hi my name is Charlie and I am a gorgeous Orange Winged Amazon.

I was with my last owner for the past 10 to 15 years and when my Daddy died I felt so lost. I stayed with my Daddies daughter for a while but I couldn’t stay there forever, so now I need a forever home. Occasionally I say “Hello” but I am not the best of talkers - I am willing to learn though. It would seem I have a lot to learn and the main thing is trust. I can’t step up onto hands or a perch, but this doesn’t mean I don’t like to come out of my cage! Simply open the door and I come out on my own and will go back in by myself too. I do like sitting on the top of my cage. I love to be tickled on the top of my head though the cage bars, but only by men, I am not that keen on women. I don’t like children and was always an ‘only pet’ so I don’t know how I feel about sharing my home with other birds or animals.

I am in Bolton, Lancashire and I am afraid that I don’t have a cage.

Ollie the Congo African Grey - C204

Hello my name is Ollie and I’m a very young 20 year old Congo African Grey.

I’m quite nervous at the moment as I haven’t had a lot of human interaction, but my safehouse Mum thinks I would still make a good companion for a family. I need to build my confidence. I’m quite a quiet boy but I do love to sing and I say hello. I do a mean dance with the safehouse teenager when the music is on and then I can really strut my stuff.  I enjoy my food, especially fruit like grapes and apple. I also like my toast in the morning and don’t forget that whatever you’re having for dinner I will expect to share. I also have a secret passion for cheese (not too much though – just as a treat). Because I am not used to being handled, I won’t step up and I don’t like hands near me. Dogs scare me as well, I get very upset and growl, so I really can’t go to a home that has dogs in it (or visiting). Before I came to Birdline I was not allowed out of my cage. I have ventured out of my cage in my safehouse and went back of my own accord. I think at this moment in time I prefer to stay in, but I like to have the option – perhaps you can leave my door open and we can see what happens?

I do not have a cage but I do have a couple of toys and I can bring them with me as I’ve grown quite attached to them. I am currently in Dumfries, Scotland.

Billy & Jack the Senegals - 940 & SW78

Hello we are Billy and Jack the Senegals. We share a cage and get on very well and need to be rehomed together.

I am Billy and am very loving and friendly. I like all the attention that I can get and am not fussy as to whom I get it from, but I do prefer male company. I like to spend time out of my cage and will cuddle in to your neck and sit with you for a few hours. I'm not that fussy about toys but I do have a few rope toys that I chew, and will strip a perch from time to time. I like to whistle and sing, and will speak very quietly but my safe house parents can't make out what I am saying! My favourite food is fruit but it must be hanging on a fruit stick and will spend time stripping apple off it. I can be a little messy when doing this but I do enjoy it. I would like a loving home and am not fussy whether it is busy or not, as long as someone talks to me and gives me cuddles. Jack is more than capable of speaking for himself so I will hand you over to Jack!

Hello my name is Jack and I am not as friendly as Billy, but I am getting better at the tickling business. I'm not keen on coming out of my cage and like to sit and watch Billy from there. I do like attention just like him, but prefer to just be talked to. I'm not fussy about toys but Billy shares his with me, and just like him I also like fruit hanging from a stick. We would both like a nice new home where we could have a bigger cage and someone to love us all the time. We don’t mind other pets, or birds, and even children are ok. We don’t mind if you have to work as we have each other and can pass the time by preening each other and snuggling up together for a snooze. We will make you happy and have lovely singing voices. Our safehouse family are lovely, but we can't stay with them forever.

We are living in Newton Abbot, Devon and although we have a cage we would benefit from a larger one.

Chuckles the Congo African Grey - SW104

Hello my name is Chuckles the Congo African Grey and I am a really cheeky chappie.

I need a special forever home as I need someone who is home most of the day. I don’t like being on my own and will pluck my feathers and get all stressed out if I am left for too long. You can’t even leave me with other birds for company, as I don’t like birds and am very nervous around them. I won’t come out of my cage if they are around. They have one of those four legged things with a tail here and it’s really funny because I can bark just like him, and I say “Come on Bear” and he comes to my cage! I love my safehouse Daddy and I’ll cuddle up with him and try to feed him. I have to say that I don’t really want to be touched by anyone else in fact I won’t tolerate anyone else once I have bonded with my male friend. I therefore cannot be rehomed with children. I love to ride around on my Dads shoulder and chatter to him as he is working. I like to be out most of the day and will hop around the furniture, but be careful I just love tearing paper - even my safehouse Mums favourite book (haha!). It is fun and games trying to get me back in my cage (well it’s fun for me anyway!). Although I can step up (for my favourite man), if I get whiff of the fact that you are putting me back in my cage then I’m off! I am a really clever boy. I say boy but no-one really knows if I am a boy or girl. I can say lots of words and imitate just about anything. I love my toast in the morning and will get all excited when I hear the toaster pop.

I am living in Paignton (Devon) presently and I am afraid I do not have a cage.

Pippin the Congo African Grey - C191

Hello my name is Pippin but my nickname is ‘baby bird’. I am a lovely (if a little plucked) African Grey.

I am a little nervous at times but with  TLC  I think I could get over my nerves, I have come on a lot already - with  help  from my safehouse Mummy and Daddy. I will step up onto a perch or onto your hand, and I will walk down from my cage to come to you. I prefer men, but I like women to interact with me too. I am a bit nervous of children but am fine with other birds or dogs. I love my fruit and veg and I also like to eat what you are eating (as long as it is safe for birds of course!) I understand if you have to work and don’t mind entertaining myself for a few hours as long as I have toys to play with - those wooden ones that I can chew are what I like best. I was very plucked, and barely had a tail when I first came to Birdline, but now my tail feathers are growing back and I hope to keep them this time, a regular spray or shower seems to help (and I enjoy it).

I am in Bolton and I am afraid I do not have a cage to call my own!

Max the Orange Winged Amazon - C201

Hello, my name is Max and I am an Orange Winged Amazon.  I am 13 years old.

I love to interact with people although I am definitely better with males than females. At my safehouse my favourite person is the 13 year old son whom I adore. I will try and eat anything you put in front of me and will soon let you know if I don't like it (He He). I can be strong willed so would be better suited with someone who could be firm (but gentle) with me so I know where the boundaries are. I might not be suitable for homes with very young children. So far I have not been destructive, although I get plenty of attention in my safehouse so I have no need to try anything naughty! Like most Amazons I can have my moments when it comes to noise, but am not especially noisy. I am not bothered by cats or dogs, but have had no interaction with other birds. I would love to have a loving home for Christmas.  Could you be the one?

I am currently living in West Yorkshire and I do come with a nice cage and toys.

Thomas the Yellow Crowned Amazon - C184

Hi everyone I'm Thomas a friendly, easy going Amazon of about 25 years old.

I am stunning and enjoy a regular warm water spray to stay this way. For an Amazon I am quiet. I can say a few words but not many, but my personality more than makes up for that. Eating is a favourite pastime of mine and will try any food you give me. My special favourite treat is toast and I do like a little bit of egg on it (yummy!). I prefer my Mummy to my Daddy, I enjoy sitting with her and will step up for her as I’m a good boy. I might interact with my Daddy sometimes, but with men I am a little more choosey. Children have to be older (13+). Is there anyone out there who could give a nice old birdie like me a loving forever home?... if so I would love to hear from you.

Currently I am living in the West Yorkshire area I do have a large cage and some toys (but maybe a new cage would be nice).

NOTE: This bird is in the latter stages of the foster programme and thus may shortly be removed from the re-homing list. Please consider this when applying to foster this bird.

Elvis the Timneh Grey - SW90

Hello my name is Elvis and I am a lively Timneh Grey and am approx. 20 years young.

At present I am being safe housed by a family of Mum, Dad, and 2 lovely Boys aged 10 and 16. I like the children best as they talk to me lots. I call to them when I want attention and liven up when they are around. I can be very selective over whether I want to have tickles from people. I'm not always that keen on my safe house Dad, and will let him know when he can have a tickle or not. My safe house Mum is ok as she doesn't touch my cage, and I will allow her to tickle me. I enjoy time out of my cage and am good at doing the step up business (but only if I want to do it)! I like lots of time out of my cage and will climb all over it exploring. I'm not destructive with anything other than my own rope toys in my cage. I think I'm clever because I have a selection of words that I can say such as “hello”, “goodbye”, “Robbie” (name of child) and I call to the dog (“Pepsi”). I can also copy you whistling and will laugh at you if you laugh with me. Sometimes I say things so quietly and fast that no one knows what I am saying! Don’t expect to be able to eat your toast without me shouting for some and I like to share a little bit of biscuit with you. My safe house dad thinks that my cage is as old as I am and I deserve a nice new cage. I am hoping that my new family will get me one and some nice rope toys to play with as mine are starting to look old and tatty. I will make you very happy as I am a sociable little fella and like to be part of the family and join in with everyone. I don’t mind if you have to work but please give me lots of attention when you get home.

I am currently living in Newton Abbot, Devon and as previously stated could do with a new cage (please).

Ozzie the Senegal - N65

Hello, my name is Ozzie and I am a beautiful Senegal whose heart can be won with time and patience.

I’m looking for a Mummy who is willing to give me the time I need, to show her just how loving I can be. I quite like a tickle now and then and I love being talked to. I can talk and often chatter away to myself. I do not much like small children so would prefer a home without them. I don’t like cats or other birds either so I would like to be the only pet please. I do interact with my safehouse Dad but like my Mum more. I love my food and do enjoy my toast in the morning and I love green beans. I don’t step up yet, but I still like to come out and sit on the top of my cage – I just come and go as I please. My safehouse Mum says I will make a great companion bird for someone who has the time to spend with me. I’m a little shy at first and it will take a couple of weeks for me to start being myself.

I have my own cage and my favourite rope toys to bring with me so I’m all ready to go. I am currently in Egremont, Cumbria.

Keith the Congo African Grey - N70

Hello my name is Keith a charming African Grey of approx. 10 years.

As you can see from my photo I have plucked my chest feathers and down my legs, but since I have been in my safehouse there has been a bit of an improvement. I love to come out of my cage. I will step onto your hand as soon as you open my cage door, and once out I am happy to sit next to you, or sit on a play stand. I don’t mind men women or older children, and I am fine around other birds and dogs. I am not a big fan of toys but I do like my mirror and I like to play with my feet! I enjoy a varied diet but am not keen on a lot of fruit, but my safehouse Mummy cuts my apple and other fruit up very small and I will eat a little bit. I can talk and if you walk out of the room I will say “see you later”, and when I go to bed I say “night-night”. Well that’s me - I am Keith and I am looking for a real nice home!

I am currently in Bolton and do not have my own cage.

NOTE: This bird is in the latter stages of the foster programme and thus may shortly be removed from the re-homing list. Please consider this when applying to foster this bird.

Charlie the Congo African Grey - C124

Hi, I am Charlie, and I am a happy, content, Congo African Grey.

I am a nice guy with men and can step up and am happy to sit with you. But I just don’t happen to like women or children at all.  I am also protective of my cage and do not like hands in it! I love my fruit and veg, and I also love my toast and juice in the morning. Currently I am out of my cage most of the day which I am very happy about. I enjoy sitting on the top where I have my play area. When I am in my cage my favourite toy is my bell - I just love to ring that bell! I don’t mind dogs around the home, and I am ok with other birds, just as long as they don’t come onto my cage. I will come to you when I get use to you, but sometimes I just prefer to be left to do my own thing. If you leave my door open I will go back in myself. I love to be sprayed as I like to make an effort to look good despite the fact that sometimes I just decide to remove my feathers. I am really looking forward to having a loving forever home, but for my happiness (and yours) I would prefer a male only home and definitely one with no children.

I don’t come with a cage of my own so I will need a new one and I can be collected from Bolton, Lancashire.

Rex the Blue Crowned Conure - E3

Hi my name is Rex the Blue Crowned Conure. I am a really lovely bird and I need a forever home.

You will have to understand that my species are quite noisy. So if you want a quiet life then I am not the bird for you!  However, I am very friendly and love lots of attention. I am happiest when I am with my safehouse Mummy and Daddy. I like watching TV and sitting on my perch eating seeds. I do understand that you sometimes have to go out but I don't like being on my own for very long. I really am very tame and love a tickle. I find it so relaxing that sometimes I go to sleep having my tickles. I am beginning to try different kinds of foods and I will take a morsel from your hand very gently. I am actually quite a good eater so you don't need to worry. I promise I will not bite you but please don't mind if I lick. I do have quite a large tongue! I do very much like spending time out of my cage. I will need you to buy me a nice cage with a flat roof so I can stand on it and chew on my toys. Or even a cage with a playstand on the top or a nice stand. I am quite funny and I would like to learn to talk, I like laughing. I am good with other animals and birds. I live with my friend Kiki who is a quaker, 2 other small Conures and also my friend Neil the cat, and we all get on fine. I do like my breakfast quite early but I am not any trouble. I go to bed when I am told and would love to be your best friend. Are you the forever home I am looking for? Do you deserve the special love I can give?

I am in Bedfordshire currently, and as mentioned I will need a new cage.

CJ the Congo African Grey - DK107

Hullo my name is CJ and I’m a hunky handsome 30 year old African Grey.

I am a very quiet boy generally, though I say Hullo in a big man’s voice! I am good at eating, and eat most things I am offered. My favourite is corn on the cob. I am a bit of a messy eater I’m afraid, but at least it shows that I enjoy my food! I like to dance if there’s a good song on the radio and my humans are dancing. I am very easy to please and have been no trouble at all at my safe house, though you will need to keep an eye on me as I have a mischievous streak. I step up and like to give kisses especially to the ladies but I am OK with men too. I cannot be rehomed where there are children though. I like to sit on your shoulder and help you with your chores, just to make sure you are doing them to my standard. I have a bit of a reputation for climbing up other parrots cages. I am not aggressive at all and enjoy the company of other birds as I had a bird friend at my old home. I am a lovely boy who is looking for someone special to take care of me forever, please don’t make me wait too long.

I’m afraid I don’t have my own cage at the moment and I currently live in Oxfordshire.

Robbie the Senegal - SE114

My name is Robbie and I am a stunning 6 year old Senegal, who just loves hanging around. So here I am looking for a new place to hang out!

I come with a large cage and it's a bit cluttered with toys which I largely ignore. I don't mind so long as I can come out daily and sit on the top of it and watch the world go by. I don't mind sharing the top of my cage with a Meyer's that I share my safehouse with. However I am not keen on the Conures here as they gang up on me, and then I'm off! I have no preference to either men or women and I don't mind children so long as they are not too young. I can sometimes get a little nervous and will come to you as I feel safe with you once I know you. I have only had one home with a family who looked after me well, but a change of circumstances means I need a new flock to be with.

I am living in West Sussex and come with my own cage.

Sunny the Hahns Macaw - 1241

Hi, I am "Sunny" in name, nature and disposition. I am a lovely Hahns Macaw of 6 years.

I am stunning and enjoy a spray (and the occasional bath in my water bowl) and this keeps me looking gorgeous, I hope you agree. I love to sit on my safehouse Dad's knee or shoulder to preen myself. I also perch there to have my teatime cuppa and small piece of biscuit. Then I love to wind him up when it’s time to go home, that’s when he calls me a right little tyke, but I know he loves me really…HeHe! I know that just like him and his wife, you will also love me. I can get a little jealous though and so it is better I am not rehomed with children. I am very tolerant of other birds and also dogs. I am looking for a forever home where I can play outside of my cage as much as possible and where I can sit for hours on your lap while you tickle me under my wings and scratch my head. I'll even watch football on the TV with you if I have to. I can talk, and I can also fly, although I prefer to walk and hop!

I have my own cage, and am all ready and waiting for you. I am currently in Poynton in Cheshire.

Eddie the Congo African Grey - DK170

Hello, my name is Eddie and I am an African Grey.

We do not know anything about me or my past, we do not even know if I am male or female as I was found. I am a very friendly bird and I love my safe house Mummy! I do prefer women but I am ok with men when I get to know them, but am more comfortable with them when my Mummy is around! I also have experience of older children. I step up and can also give kisses and cuddles. I love cuddling into your neck and having my head stroked. I will let you know when I've had enough though (he he...). I love helping to prepare dinner and then eating it with you. Your dinner plate always looks so much better than mine so be careful, I have been known to get bored eating my veg on a Sunday and make a run for it with your Yorkshire pudding! My safehouse Mum makes me marmalade on toast every morning and if I'm really good, she also gives the odd treat, (maybe a bit of biscuit?). I will grab your cup of tea from you if I'm sitting on your shoulder also, so be careful. I'd prefer someone who is home most of the day as I do pluck a little, and I'm unsure if it is because I get bored easily. If you have to go out for short periods then please leave the radio on for me. My safehouse Mum also leaves boxes with treats in so I have something different to do whilst I wait for you to come home. I LOVE ripping up newspapers and magazines so watch your post ha-ha! I am fairly happy to sit on my perch whilst you do your house work. I am also happy to meet new people so long as they wait until I'm confident to go to them. I will sit on their leg or even shoulder but don’t try to stoke me until I lower my head to say I'm ready. Oh I also love car rides too… so long as I'm in the front seat next to you and I can see out of the window!!!

I do have my own cage which I will bring with me and am currently in Surrey.

Sinatra the Indian Ringneck - S11

My name is Sinatra and I am a stunning 2 year old Ringneck.

I am a lovely little boy, and I need a forever home where I will have another bird for company. The only noise I make is a high pitched call to the Conure who lives in my safehouse, unfortunately she’s grumpy and chases me away! I think if I had a birdy friend I would be much happier. I love being out of my cage and I am very well behaved when I am out – I potter about doing my own thing, exploring and watching the activities from my spot on the curtain rail. I’m not overly affectionate although I have let my safehouse Daddy scratch my head once or twice. I am not very good at eating my fruit and veg, but if you’re eating I will sit on your shoulder and make a gentle ‘parp’ sound until you give me some too, I also love some porridge in the morning and some of your dinner in the evening! I will need a new cage in my forever home as I’m living in a borrowed one at the moment. I would love a mirror too please! I don’t play with toys but I love looking at myself in the mirror, I even blow myself kisses and tell myself I’m a “Pretty, pretty boy” (as you can see in my picture!). I talk to various household items, the coffee maker, the knife-rack, and I even told the croissants they were pretty! I like men and ladies, and I’m not bothered by the safehouse dog, but have no experience with little people. I step up very well, but occasionally I can be a bit stroppy and if I don’t want to move I’ll fluff my feathers up and nip you (gently). This is my way of warning you, and if you leave me alone for a short while I’ll get over it. Most of the time I go back to my cage on my own, I even shut the door myself!

I currently live in Moulsford, Oxfordshire and I am looking forward to meeting my new forever Mummy or Daddy. As mentioned earlier I will need a new cage.

Maxi the Orange Winged Amazon - C163

Hello my name is Maxi and I am an Orange Winged Amazon.

I am a friendly bird although this isn’t immediately apparent. I will growl at you but this is just a false front. I haven’t bitten anyone in my safehouse, and to be honest I love human company, but I just like to let you know who is boss! I am looking for a forever home where I will be very much loved and am able to be out of my cage a lot. I can step up onto your hand and am happy to sit on your shoulder or lap. I am also happy playing on my cage. My safehouse parents think I am a cheeky chappie just because I expect to be able to try everything on your plate at teatime. I currently enjoy a healthy diet with plenty of fruit and veg and I would like that to continue. I don’t mind dogs or older children, but have not had to share my home with a bird before so I don’t know if I would like that! My current safehouse parents work most of the day, and whilst I can entertain myself I would rather not - I am very excited when they return (and rather noisy)!! So if I sound like I could fit into your life then please apply for me. Maxi is my name and being loved is my game.

I have a cage to bring with me and am currently living in Bolton.

Jasper the Blue Fronted Amazon - S25

Hello, my name is Jasper and I am a Blue Fronted Amazon.

I am 15 years old and I am looking for a quiet home with someone that will have a lot of time and patience with me as I am very nervous since I have been in my safehouse. I do not like anyone to come too close to me but I am quite happy if they just want to talk or sing to me from a distance. My safehouse Mum thinks I would be better off as an only bird as then I could have my owner's undivided attention. I am very shy and have not ventured out of my cage yet. Santa brought me a birdy bell this Christmas which I absolutely love. My safehouse Mum was quite shocked as I had been very quiet, but when I got my red birdy bell I became very excited and really love throwing it around on its chain. I love being sprayed and will happily extend my wings to make sure you get every part of me wet! I am a good eater and my favourite fruit is ... Satsumas!! - My safehouse Mum says she has never seen a parrot eat so many Satsumas before! I also love other fruits too though. I am just a nervous and quiet bird that needs a lot of one to one attention with someone who will spend a lot of time with me and have a lot of patience.

I do not have my own cage so you will need to buy me one. I am living in West Sussex but will need to be collected from Surrey.

Casper the Congo African Grey – E18

Hello….Casper is my name and I am a devilishly handsome and feather perfect  African Grey!

I am only 3 years old and was loved very much by my family, who had to give me up due to illness. I am nervous and will need someone who can help me gain in confidence, so an experienced home would be best. As I had never met other birds until coming to my safehouse, I have been a bit shocked by this and would prefer to be an only bird (or maybe share with just one bird), with an owner who is at home a lot. I do prefer women but will step up for men if I need to be rescued after landing on a picture or mirror! I am ok with dogs and well behaved cats, but no really small children please as I am scared of loud noises. I have my own cage and I growl slightly if you put your hand in it as its scary for me. I need a calm gentle family to help me recover from this move, as I have only ever had one home before coming into Birdline so am finding it all very strange. My diet is Pretty Bird Complete and I need to stay on this but I also enjoy fruit and veg too.

I am currently residing in Cambridgeshire and will wait here for you to come and collect me and take me to your home. I have my own cage (and some toys)  to bring too!

Harvey the Orange Winged Amazon - 1543

Hello my name is Harvey. I am a friendly bird who is looking for a home where I get lots of attention.

I am currently in the sitting room with two other parrots and enjoy their company as long as they don't get too close. My carers work from home so I get lots of attention from them. I am a lazy bird, although I can fly I prefer not to and instead enjoy sitting on my perch on top of my cage. I say hello, I quack like a duck, I wolf whistle and can make lots of other sounds. I bob up and down if someone does it with me and although I love talking to people I'm very quiet when I'm left on my own. I like having the back of my head scratched and I will shake hands. Sometimes I am a bit grumpy and don't want to be touched or shake hands, so I peck instead. I adore older children and show off to them, and have not shown a preference to males or females. I put myself to bed at night but my carers don't shut the door. I don't step up onto your hand, but I will step onto a perch. I enjoy being sprayed with warm water and I look really handsome afterwards.

I do not have my own cage I am afraid, and will need to be collected from Surrey.

Gizzy the Blue Crowned Conure - N88

Hello, my name is Gizzy and I was born in Wales where I used to live with my Mum. However, it was a very small house and my Mum wasn’t prepared for the amount of room that I would take up (or the noise!), so I couldn't stay there. I'm now with my Safe-house Mum & Dad so I am looking for somewhere permanent to live.

It would be great to have a Mum and Dad to spend lots of time with me, as I like to play and talk with people (lots)! I talk to the other birds in my room too and I get on with them and the dog just fine! I'm very clever and will learn new words and tricks quickly if you have the patience to teach me. I like to have a bath every day and make a lovely mess in my cage with the water. Maybe I could go in the sink or big bath soon? I don't mind being sprayed once in a while. I like being stroked on my neck and head and also underneath my wings - I like cuddles and have shown no preference to men or women (not sure about children though as I haven’t met any!).

I am in Poynton in Cheshire, and I do not have my own cage.

Polly the Slender Billed Conure - N55

Hello my name is Polly. I am a slender billed conure.

I'm not sure how old I am but I am looking for a home that will bring me out of myself. I like it when you talk to me and I will whistle and chatter back to you. Sometimes I might even give a wolf whistle. I like both my safehouse Mum and Dad but won't let them handle me at the moment. With your care and patience, I might trust you enough to let you touch me later on. I do like my food - as well as my proper parrot food, I like toast with butter for my breakfast, the odd chip as a treat and plenty of fruit, particularly apple. I am not keen on toys but I like my steel bell and will ring it for you sometimes. I also have a steel mirror which I play peek a boo behind. I like to sit on top of my cage and watch you. My safehouse dad has also just discovered I'm a wee rocker at heart, and I love rock music and will head bang along with the music.

Although I do have my own cage, I could really do with a new one. I am currently living in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire.

Mac the Senegal - N86

Boo!!! ..Can you see me, yep me…..I'm Mac a Senegal. I'm looking for a forever home. Can you offer me one?

I'm a quiet boy. I'm young and still learning new things, can you help me learn more? My safehouse Mum says I’m a wee darling and that I’m a pleasure to have around. I like both my safehouse Dad and Mum, but I prefer my safehouse Mum. I’m always flying over and cuddling into her cheek and I like to be stroked and talked to. I have no real experience of children so maybe just older ones are best? I haven't found my voice yet but I’m slowly finding it. I like to be part of everything that’s going on, and if I’m not I will let you know. When I’m in my (borrowed) cage,  I spend most of my time on my swing, I love my swing. I don’t mind dogs but I like to keep an eye on them. I'm always on the go and would like lots of toys to keep me occupied. I'm looking for a busy forever home and would prefer to be the only bird, as I would love 1 to 1 attention from my future mum. I don’t mind other birds but can get jealous.

I don’t have a cage to call my own and I am living in Castle Douglas, Scotland

NOTE: This bird is in the latter stages of the foster programme and thus may shortly be removed from the re-homing list. Please consider this when applying to foster this bird.

Mick the Timneh African Grey - S13

Hello….I am Mick and I am a quiet Timneh Grey who likes nothing more than sitting watching the world go by from the top of my cage.

I really don't like to be touched but will happily take food from you even though I am scared of hands. I would like to either be an only bird or maybe with just one other, as I am not that keen on other birds especially if they land on my cage! I make some cute noises and whistle a bit, but other than this I am quite quiet really. I don't venture far, just onto the top of my cage so I can see what’s going on around me. I haven't learnt to step up but if you are confident you can just scoop me up and put me where I need to be, or I will just go back into my cage when I am hungry. I did not have a good start to life and would benefit from a new home with people that have a bit of experience so that I can learn to trust again. I largely ignore the cat and dog that I share my safehouse with, and have shown no preference to men women or children – all are ok as long as they know I don’t want to be touched.

I have my own cage and a bunch of plastic fruit that is mine and you must not touch it! I am currently in Cambridgeshire but am looking forward to relocating to your place!

Oliver the Maroon Bellied Conure - C152

Hello, my name is Oliver the Maroon Bellied Conure. I am a small bird with a loving personality.

I enjoy having my cuddles with my safehouse Mum and Dad and often sit on their shoulders or arms to make sure that they are cleaning around the house properly. I also like (sensible) children. I don't mind sharing my home with other pets or birds as long as they do not get 'up close and personal'. I like my own space and need my own 'out time'. I love my food and my safehouse Mum often asks where I put it all when I eat it. I bath myself but enjoy the occassional spray - well you have to stay looking good! I can step up and am happiest when I am out of my cage and interacting with the family. I would love to have a home where I could have a flutter around and sometimes climb the curtains. In return I can offer lots of love.

I have my own cage and I am in Stoke on Trent.

Oscar the Orange Winged Amazon – N90

Hello, My name is Oscar.  I am a beautiful Amazon who loves peace and quiet.

I don't mind men, women, kids or other pets but I like to be left to my own devices. I am shy and often get frightened by things, but will allow you to stroke my head and neck once I trust you enough ( I think I am more trusting of men). I love to be out of my cage where I can just sit and watch the world go by. My safehouse Mum and Dad say that I am really no trouble. I like to make noises like a telephone and will sometimes wolf whistle but I haven’t mastered talking. I am a good eater and love my fruit and veg! If you have to work for a few hours a day then that is fine – I can entertain myself with my toys until you return. Please help me find a loving home.

I don't have my own cage and I am in Stoke on Trent

Trigger the Congo African Grey - S28

Hi my name is Trigger and I am a fantastic African Grey!

My safehouse family can't believe how good I am. I need a perch to step off my cage, but once off my cage I will step up onto an arm and be carried round. You can stroke me, but I'm not too keen on a head scratch. I can talk. I pick up new words quickly, so be careful what you say around me! I also have a big repertoire of noises I can imitate, having said that I am not overly noisy. I love any food - mine or yours! I have shared the last 2 years of my life with a macaw and am now spending time with another grey, a cockatoo and a big dog, so I think it is fair to say that I am not bothered by birds or other pets. I like the men and women in my safehouse. I have met children before, but it was a while ago so I can't remember if I like them or not. Certainly older children (over about 10 years) would be fine. I am used to a home with just adults, but I don't mind if it’s lively or quiet - I just need some company. I would probably be OK to be left for a short period if you had to work but only if there was another bird for me to talk to, as I am not used to being left on my own. Anyone out there looking for a bird like me?

I come with my own cage, but will need some perches and toys as I am borrowing from my safehouse, I am currently living in Surrey.

Rosco / Rosie the Jenday Conure – SW46

Hi there, I am Rosco /Rosie the Jenday Conure.

Why two names you may ask?..Well, when I was a baby I was told I was a boy and called Rosco. Since then I have laid eggs so it was decided I should have a more ‘girlie’ name hence the change to Rosie (I don’t mind either!). I am very friendly and like men women and children (of any age – I am very gentle). I also enjoy the company of other birds and am unfazed by cats and dogs! I am a good eater and enjoy my fruit and veg, I can talk a little and I can step up! In fact I am such a good boy…ooops, sorry girl (this takes some getting used to!). I am at my happiest when I am out of the cage interacting with my humans. I like to come around the house with you, just to ensure you are doing your chores properly, but make sure all the doors and windows are closed as I am a very good flyer and very curious! I would prefer quite a lively house as I am fascinated by all the goings on. I can be a bit noisy especially if I am in the cage and want to be out! The only thing that really scares me is the ringtone of the old style telephones so you may have to upgrade your phone, but this is a small sacrifice to make to share your life with me.

I am in Weston-Super-Mare and unfortunately I do not have my own cage.

Alfie the Quaker - N71

Hello, my name is Alfie, I am nearly 3 years old.

I came into Birdline because my owner said I was too noisy. My safehouse mum says I am quite noisy but this is because I am an immature Quaker and act like a nosey, noisy teenager. I am inquisitive but I am really scared of people, especially children, and panic when they approach my cage. I think that if I went to a quiet home where I could get to know you at my own pace, I will show you what a sweet, loveable chap I am. At my current safehouse, my Mum has another Quaker, and I am just starting to tolerate him, but in general I am not overly keen on other birds. I think other pets may be too much for me too as I am nervous, unless they leave me well alone! I prefer to come out and go back to my cage in my own time, as I do not like being handled. I do fly to my safehouse Mum when she lets me out, and I like her, I think with some TLC and patience I will get the confidence to let you handle me. I do have a missing middle toe and cannot remember when or where I lost it, maybe this has something to do with my nervousness of humans and other birds? At my safehouse, I am starting to become happy with humans, but still do get stressed when there are children around me.

I do not have my own cage, but I know you will get me one, and when you get me home and see what a lovely cheeky chap I am, you will want the best for me and know I am worth it! I am in Chester.

Jack the Black Capped Conure - C91

Hello All. My name is Jack and I'm a Black Capped Conure.

I'm only a little bird and I come with my own cage and all my favourite perches and mirror. I'm quite shy and timid, and prefer to be spoken to softly, as loud noises close to my cage make me jump, and then I hide within the tassels on my perch.  When I go to bed I like to cuddle up to these tassels. I have a really good appetite - berries, grapes and millett seed are my favourite foods. I don't eat cooked foods at all, not even porridge. Every so often I start to pluck and I have to be sprayed with aloe vera gel and water. This does make me better even though I am not too keen on it! Although I don't like being touched, I love to be talked and sung to and perhaps, with a patient and loving new Mummy and Daddy, I might learn to let them handle me. I do take food from my safehouse parents' fingers, so I'm getting better. I think I would prefer a quiet house where I can be the main focus of attention, so perhaps a home with no other pets or small children?

I have my own cage and I am in Poynton in Cheshire.

Max the Eclectus - W1

Hello, my name is Max and I am an adorable male Eclectus and am 10 years old.

I love my safehouse Mummy but it is now time to find a forever home. I am a little nervous about coming out of my cage, but in time I am sure I will be brave enough to come out a lot more, if you help me and are patient. I only like my Mum I am afraid - I don't like men at all. I will scream if my safehouse Daddy comes near me, and I will continue to scream until he goes away. Therefore I would ideally like a female only home, where I can wrap you around my finger - so to speak. I don't mind other birds, and am used to the cat and dogs that are in my safehouse. For an Eclectus I am quite quiet, although I do like to keep my Mum on her toes when she is cooking, by pretending to be a smoke alarm or siren! My favourite toy is my dome bell which is my 'comfort toy', but I also talk through it as though it were a megaphone (oh yes I can talk too!). I am a good eater and will try most things, and if you give me a bit of biscuit as a treat I like to dunk it in my water before eating it. I just want a forever home with a new Mummy who will love me and be patient with me, as I can be nervous - I will love you forever in return. If you think that you could be my new Mummy then please get in touch.

I have a cage but would benefit from a larger one and am currently in Torquay, Devon.

Ollie the Congo African Grey - SW60

Hi everyone, my name is Ollie and as you can see from my photo, I am a handsome bird.

My safehouse Mum thinks I am the best looking bird she has ever seen, and the most well behaved bird she has ever come across. She is 100% right of course - ha ha. There are some things you need to know about me - I love to be handled all the time, I love being spoilt with lots and lots of kisses. I am not the sort of parrot that just likes to sit on top of the cage and watch the world go by. I like to be active and I want to be with you when you are doing the housework. I just want to be loved. So if you can't love me and spoil me and let me help you with your chores, then I am not the bird for you. My safehouse Mum keeps telling me that she will miss me so much when I finally find my new home. I will miss her too, but I need to move on soon. I do talk a lot, sometimes I can go on for hours and hours (I can talk more than any of you human beings can). If you do not come over and kiss me, I will keep asking you until you give in! I can dance, but this I can only do for about 10 minutes! I really want a new Mum and Dad soon (I have a preference towards women but like men too). I would prefer a home where I was an only bird as I am demanding of ALL your attention and wouldn't want to share you really. So if you are looking for a handsome bird, then that’s me!!!

I nearly forgot, I do not have a cage, and when you buy me one it will need to be big, because I like to play a lot in my cage (so please may I have lots of toys too). I hope to meet up with you soon, and my pad is in Surrey.

Thomas the Blue Fronted Amazon - S32

Hello, my name is Thomas and I'm a blue fronted Amazon.

I lived with my owners for 30 years before coming to live with my safe house parents and I found it all very frightening at first. I was a very spoilt parrot and allowed to eat lots of human food to such an extent that I started to dislike the usual parrot food. However, I am now getting used to eating a good mix of seed, fruit & vegetables and of course human foods (I still get treats when I've been good though). I'm looking for a home with a lady as I really don't like men or children. I get extremely grumpy if anyone comes up to me, and I much prefer it if they keep their distance and just talk to me. I like being with other parrots, so I would like it if I'm not the only one. My safe house parents are at home most of the day, but if they go out I'm a good boy and just talk to the other birds. I've never been taught to step up onto a hand or perch but am learning to go back into my cage when I'm told to. I love attention and enjoy having conversations with people as I can say lots of words. Please don't be put off by my 'grumpy old man' attitude. I'm a very handsome boy just looking for the right person to love and be loved by (must be a woman though!).

I am in Camberley, Surrey, and can bring my cage with me!

Lulu the Timneh African Grey - C192

Hello my name is Lulu. I am a cheeky little Timneh African Grey and I am looking for a new forever home.

I can chatter for England (not that anyone can understand what I am saying), but I am not noisy. I don’t like to be touched or tickled, but I do like to sit on your head! My safehouse Mum is trying to teach me to sit on her shoulder and not her head. I am starting to listen and do get on her shoulder, but still prefer the head if I can get away with it. I am afraid I don’t step up, but you can move me from A to B on your shoulder (or head!) I am fully flighted and get great enjoyment from flying around. My safehouse mum has an area of the garden which is safe for me to fly in, and that is good – do you have an aviary I can use? All that flying makes me so tired that all I can do is sleep, but before I get covered for the night I enjoy my dinner. I am not a fussy eater, and the list of foods I enjoy is endless! I have a slight preference to women although men are ok too. I don't seem to mind children or other pets as long as they do not bother me.

I will need a new cage as I have borrowed one from my safehouse and currently I am in Wirral.
